In
1858 fully-fledged diplomatic relations between Japan and the United Kingdom were established as a result of the signing of the Anglo-Japanese Treaty of Amity and Commerce in Edo (the present Tokyo). To commemorate this 150th anniversry the Embassy of Japan are supporting a number of events across the UK including CSCS-09.
Speakers from the UK and Japan have been invited to give presentations of their research in a spirit of collaboration and friendship between the two countries.
